This particular shoot I had been looking forward to for a loooong time... scheduled back in April, I had to wait months to capture these pictures of wonderful Ashley and her family Saturday at her parent's beautiful home! Connected through my cousin, Ashley and her husband and boys were literally lifesavers- taking me in for several weekends and offering their home as a home away from home- while I was living in Australia in the fall of 2009. This is definitely crossing the "cheese-ball" line, but they will always hold a special place in my heart! :) I am so thankful for them and I was so glad to get to spend some time with them and the extended family. Such a beautiful, loving family- and look how great they all look, made my job easy!
"Calluna" being the genus name of the heather plant, is a casual nod to my natural photography style. I strive to capture my clients as naturally and comfortably as possible, and aim to catch the feel of an event from start to finish.

Birthday Girls in the Gorge
These girls have spunk. LOTS of spunk! I LOVED Shelli's idea of birthday pictures of her girls, 4 and 7 years old, complete with a huge bundle of birthday balloons. Lots of smiles and accidental (possibly purposeful?) waterfall pool swimming made for a fantastic shoot in the gorge last week! And do you think modeling could be in their future? They were not camera shy at all!
